I’ve been back at the office for a week!
The office part has been going ok, mostly. I have an ancient PC that really doesn’t like have two monitors and I need two monitors to work so it been up and down on that front. The new laptops turned out to be desktops so there is grumbling by those who were expecting a laptop and I’ve been eyeing all the PCs that are being replaced because I am snagging one of them.
Whichever has the best video card.
I’ve failed at meals this week. I cooked twice and one of those was Sunday. The rest of the time it was totally random sandwiches and takeout.
So I need to get on that. That isn’t going to work long term.
When I am at home I have been doing some more crochet.
I am working on a hat.
It’s a slouchy beret style that is snood like and I can tuck my damp hair into it when I leave the gym on winter mornings & not worry about the curl being pulled out of it.
And I also have been slowly working an icon project on my computer.
I’ve been replacing these folder icons
with my own personalized icons
and in my digi scrap folders I have been replacing folder icons with the kits preview image
It is so much easier to tell at a glance what the kit looks like than when all you can see is a small image tucked into a folder.
But I have a lot of scrapping stuff and while it is fairly easy to use the icon converter software, it’s tedious. So I find myself purging my folders of stuff as I go. Sure I like it, but do I like it enough to copy the preview image into my ‘folder image’ file, remember what the file name is (They are all named folder (x) ) and then after running the software, go back into the folder properties and change the icon?
Very often the answer is “No. No I don’t” and I drag it to my ‘unlikely’ folder to languish until enough time has passed I feel convinced I will never use it again & delete it.
The boys had a football game Saturday. They lost 14-20. So they are 1-1 now. Havoc lost his temper at missing a tackle, threw his helmet to the ground and earned himself a half game suspension for next week’s game.
I’ve made reservations for our annual trip to Great Wolf Lodge. We’re talking about going a day early & visiting Colonial Williamsburg but the boys would have to miss a game if we did so we might go on our last day at the Lodge. We usually leave around noon or one anyway, so if we left a couple hours early we could still get in a decent tour of Williamsburg. Or maybe we’ll do one of their walking tours. We did the ghost walk a couple years ago geared to families with toned down ghost stories. The kids loved it so we have a few options.
It’s nice to be busy but I feel too busy and I don’t like that.
I suppose it will all settle out once it is no longer so new to me.
How’s your September going?
