This is what we found under the hallway carpet, in front of the laundry nook I think it captures the essence of our homebuilders like nothing else could. That is a straight line that they themselves drew on the floor prior to laying the tile in the nook. (It seems to trail off in [...] We haven’t finished the flooring. We’d planned to do the hall & spare room Saturday & then the boys’ room Sunday. I don’t know why we bother making plans. Friday I cleared out the spare room except for a bookshelf & the futon frame with futon. Saturday we woke up at 7am & decided [...] Not a whine about the house, though the house certainly features into it. It’s mostly about DH & I’s ‘if we are doing this we might as well also do that at the same time’ mentality. We have more or less solved the flooding issue. (where ‘solved’ means I cleaned the drains & we have [...] The school buildings were all determined to be structurally sound, so the kids were able to begin the year. Naturally all the kids could talk about with one another was where they were & what they were doing during the earthquake.
